Visit to the famous large-scale agricultural farms of Kherson
region.
Agricultural "farmers' tours" are very popular among foreign
tourists now. They include visiting to the famous agricultural objects
of Kherson region.
We offer the following places for such a tour:
 1.
Excursion to Askania-Nova reserve named after F.E.Falz-Fein. It lasts
for about 3 hours. During the excursion tourist are shown vegetative
and animal world of the reserve. Askania-Nova biosphere reserve was
founded in 1856. Animals and plants were delivered there from 5
continents. It is a large Zoo, which occupies the area of 11 hectares
of virgin steppe with wild animals, birds and plants from different
parts of the world and arboretum with different types of vegetation.
In 1984 Askania-Nova was included into UNESCO list of Biosphere
Reserves.
2. Excursion to the Scientific-Research Institution of Cattle
Breeding in Steppe Regions named after M.F.Ivanov and National
Scientific Selection-Genetic Center. The basic area of research is
improvement and creation of new breeds, types, and lines of sheep,
cattle and pigs. Within the last 15 years over 10 remarkable selection
achievements were approbated on the state level.
 3.
Excursion to Ukrainian-Sweden joint enterprise "Chumak", which was
founded in 1996 in Kherson region not far from Kakhovka. This company
produces ketchups, mayonnaises, sauces, tomato paste, edible oil,
tinned vegetables and fruits. It sells its production under trademarks
"Chumak" and "Daryna".
Visiting of the enterprise is possible only from the written approval
of the director general, the honorable consul of Sweden in Ukraine.
Dinner in "Chumak" canteen is possible.
 4.
Testing of vintage wine in the famous agricultural firm "Belozerskiy".
Testing includes several kinds of wine from dry to semisweet and
snack: chips, nut lets, crickets. You have an opportunity to visit
winery, orchard and liquor store.
Dinner in "Belozerskiy" café is possible.
 5.
We can offer horse club for fans of riding and those, who want to
learn horse riding. This club is located near the city of Kherson in a
border of a pine forest. There is a manege with 6 horses and Ukrainian
national café. 3 trainers will help you to ride both in manege and in
the wood.
Lunch on the fresh wind is possible.
Visiting of pump station near the town of Kakhovka. It is the most
powerful station in Europe. There is a special sight platform for
tourists. Leading expert of pump station will be your guide.
Steam-ship trip around the Dnieper estuary to Belogrudov Island.
Tour is calculated for one day. Here you can see the unique nature of
the mouth of the river Dnieper, which is called PLAVNI.
Plavni has a lot of large and small channels, quiet backwaters and
islands with inimitable flora and fauna. People of Belogrudov Island
receive guests with Ukrainian hospitality. They lavishly lay the
tables with national dishes including fish, fresh fruits and
vegetables, cheese, alcoholic drinks.
 We
can offer small private rest-ship for group up to 25 persons. This
rest-ship is unique in its own way, decorated with antique things,
equipped with modern facilities. It is often used for fishing in a
lower reaches of the Dnieper river.
8. Meeting with teachers and students of Kherson Agrarian
University. Organization of round table with leading experts of
University is possible.
9. Trip to one of the best farms of Kherson region (70 km from the
city). This farm is specialized in cultivation of melons, tomatoes,
potatoes, which are exported to Northland countries. Program of
visiting includes dinner (meat-soup, vegetables and fruits), which is
laid under special tent. Cooking is made in tourists' presence.
Visiting of cattle-breeding farm is possible.
